From November 26–29, the PAFID team, together with Forest Guards and women livelihood beneficiaries trained in beadwork and dressmaking, conducted a lakbay-aral across Davao del Sur, Sarangani, and South Cotabato to learn from and appreciate diverse cultures. This initiative underscores that preserving and practicing cultural traditions is essential to protecting our environment and our planet.

Throughout the visits—from women’s centers to weaving communities and cultural wellness spaces—the group witnessed how Indigenous traditions guide communities in caring for their territories.

The journey ended with reflections and group assessment, where participants shared valuable lessons—showing that cultural identity, unity, and respect for traditional knowledge are key to environmental protection.

This journey reminds us that culture is conservation—practicing and preserving it is key to protecting our Earth.

Culture is conservation.

IKSP is stewardship.
